PIPELINE       -     LEAD SELECTED - NOW IN PRE-IND STUDIES 

In late July 2011 MGB-BP03 was formally selected as candidate for clinical testing  from a number of very promising lead molecules demonstrating potent and rapid activity against a range of Gram positive bacteria including MRSA, VRE, Streptococcus and C. Difficile.

The major focus is now to advance MGB-BP-03 to IND filing with an an orally administered product for eradication of C. Difficile, in addition to continuing work on the anti-MRSA i.v formulation.   

In addition to the antibacterial compounds there are within the MGB Biopharma patent estate a number of other compounds which belong to distinctive chemical sub-families.  Although these are not effective vs bacteria they do possess specific  antifungal, and anti-parasitic properties.       The company is exploring collaborations to advance these programmes.
